About L’Expérience

The restaurant was opened in 1981 by Tony and Jill Quirk who ran it very successfully for 29 years.  Michael, whose long connection with it began as early as 1993, as part of a work experience programme, was delighted to be able, and assisted by his wife, Belinda, to take over the reins when Tony and Jill decided in 2009 that it was time to take retirement. 

Michael and Belinda, who are both fully-qualified chefs, trained at The Isle of Man College.  Having worked under Tony’s rigorous training for many years, Michael is determined to maintain the former owners’ high standards as well as the essential heart and soul of L’Expérience.  Meanwhile, Belinda sees her role as that of continuing to offer customers the warm welcome they always received from Jill.  Tony and Jill still pop in, always delighted to see old customers and, in Tony’s case, to perform a spot of magic!
